Large Petrified Wood Log with Druzy Quartz

Large Petriied Wooden Log with Druzy Quartz from Germany. This fossilised wood is full of thousands of tiny Quartz crystals which sparkle so much in the light! It’s hard to capture how amazing the sparkle is on photos. 

Formed around 35 million years the wood has slowly been replaced with minerals, in this case Quartz, so although it looks just like wood, it's heavy! An incredible, rare and unusual piece, the area where it was found is now inaccessible.
